12/29/2023 0 Comments Yakuza 4 hostess maker substories![]() What about the story? The first chapter is just plopping you straight into conversations with characters talking overly familiar with one another. Even if he gets over his ex-girlfriend, his actions are fundamentally morally reprehensible.Įnough about Akiyama though. He has flaws sure, but his moral code deep down is pure… except not really. ![]() I hope they do, but right now I can't shake the feeling the creators see him like Robin Hood or a rogue with a heart of gold. And I do not know if the game will actually address this. In terms of the women, he just takes advantage of them. He wants to feel morally superior and play with people's feelings. This man has a god complex and does not want to help the underprivileged at all. Seriously, in a substory this dipshit rejects a woman who ran away from an abusive husband with her child simply because she won't seek work in the hostess industry. Women though? Y'all can just go work at my hostess club or fuck off. Akiyama tests the character of every man and helps them on spiritual journeys towards self-improvement. On the other hand, the game doesn't really call out the fact this guy treats women like absolute shit. On one hand, the game calls him out on letting his personal life interfere with business in regards to him being horny over a client. It deflates moments like Hana calling out Akiyama for wasting money because he can just continually pull unlimited funds from his nebulous bank account thereby removing any sort of tension. It still makes 0 sense how this guy just throws around money without any care at all. Yes, I know he is supposedly good at trading. The fact he just has an unlimited amount of money is insane. He is not grounded in any sort of reality. And the writers love this dude because they just revel in making sure you think he is the coolest dude imaginable by playing him up. He can't help but stir shit up because he needs to be the center of attention. Every scene he is in he just has this holier-than-thou attitude as he draws all the attention to him. However, his character reeks of being a teacher's pet. His personality can be fun, his VA is very good, and he is definitely a handsome dude. ![]() Ok, I'm being a bit hyperbolic, but I hate Akiyama. Why? Because they stretch a chapter's worth of content into 4 and make you play as a pretentious twat. Holy shit, this game has the worst opening of any Yakuza game yet. I'll mostly get into story for now and talk about gameplay after I finish the game in its entirety. Y4 has an unique structure, and I have many thoughts already. I made LTTP posts for Yakuza 2 and 3, but decided to do something different with 4 and chronicle my journey as I go along for each character instead of after I finish the game. I still plan on 100%ing all the new mini games as well as the returning ones that I enjoy (karaoke is a must and the UFO catcher in this game is actually very good in this entry), but I am so happy I don't have to do everything in regards to tedious side content like the hostesses. This is probably going to be my most relaxed Yakuza playthrough yet because this game has no 100% mini game requirement for a trophy. I finished up Yakuza 3 around 2 weeks ago and decided to just jump right back in because I was kind of itching for more. Started the game two days ago as I continue my platinum journey through the series.
